Merry Christmas

December 23, 2007

I’m off for the Christmas holidays, and will return to posting on December 26th. My wonderful, non-game playing family is visiting, and once again, I am hoping that I’ll find the right game – Blokus? Wii Bowling? – that will turn them into game playing people like me. They are fabulous cooks though – each and every one of them – and if I got them into RISK, meals might turn to take out pizza instead of the tenderloin that’s planned for tonight. That would not be a good thing.

I hope all of you enjoy your holidays with your family, wherever you are and whatever it is you celebrate.

Brenda

Happy Holidays, Brenda. Throw Wii Bowling in front of them. Hard to resist that one by anybody.

In fact, that console/game drove my girlfriends step-dad to purchase a Wii (who of which, wasn’t a console gamer). Magic, I tell ya!

Blokus isn’t a bad choice, though. It’s fun, it’s easy enough to grasp, and there’s no Wii Remote straps to remove when people are going back and forth between playing and eating. 🙂

Happy Holidays! Merry Christmas! I’ve been thoroughly enjoying your blog and can’t wait for more after Christmas! But anyway, enjoy your family and good food and keep on gaming.

They like to make food? Try Cooking Mama for the Wii…

And I still say, Settlers of Catan. I’ve introduced it to countless gamers and non-gamers alike, and I’ve never seen a single person who didn’t enjoy their first game.

I second Settlers. Or some good ole fashioned Guitar Hero if you have access to that. Just never go first. I found if I go first, people get embarrassed when they play.
