Workshops
I am available for half-day or full-day design workshops, schedule permitting. Contact me at my first initial at my whole name dot com. Remember to use only one “i” in my last name – Brenda Brathwaite. Some recent workshops are listed below.
Game Design Improv
A fast-paced, comedic and challenging workshop that will stretch your mind, your design skills and quite possibly give you an idea for your next great game. Groups will take on a variety of game design challenges based on new, existing and terrifying IP as they wrestle with associated constraints.
The value of a game designer lies in his or her ability to turn anything into a game and any problem into a viable and fun solution. In fact, that’s where much of the possibility for innovation lies.
The workshop ends with the much hyped “Iron Designer Challenge” where teams will take on the impossible – and do it anyway.
Game Design Improv is based on the 300+ challenges found in Challenges for Game Designers
100 Questions, 97 Answers, 56 Minutes on 300 Slides
Students hoping to enter the industry have a lot of questions. What should be in their portfolios? How do they make contacts? How much do game designers make? What should they wear to interviews? In this presentation, Brathwaite answers these questions and many, many more.
